I love glass containers for holding solvents, especially salsa bottles, as they’re small but have a large throat. A quick swish in a bottle filled with mineral spirits cleans taps, dies, and drill bits. Soaking parts in lacquer thinner degreases them prior to plating or dipping in black oxide solution. Any glass bottles should be washed thoroughly, as they are most often used to hold acidic foods, (salsa, pickles, etc.) If they’re not totally neutralized (think baking soda), residual acid can permeate the liquid solvent and corrode any metal parts and tooling you put in them.
